Getting around in Florence:


The best way of getting around Florence is on foot or by bus. The town is small and all sights are located in the old town area. There's nothing better than enjoying the beauties of the city by walking.

 

Bus service in Florence is managed by the municipal system called ATAF, and it has over one hundred bus lines.


    A single ticket that allows you to travel for 90 minutes costs €1,20. There's also the option of a 24 hours ticket (€ 5.00), a 3 days ticket (€ 12.00), and a 7 days ticket (€ 18.00).

 

Tramvia consists of electric trains connecting central Florence to the city of Scandicci. The line representing the return of the streetcar in Florence is 7.4 km long and it has 14 stops, providing a low environmental impact and a fast service.

While riding a train in Florence you only have 3 stations options: Santa Maria Novella Station, which is the central one, Campo di Marte Station, and Rifredi Station. The Tramvia trains depart every 5 minutes and run from 5:00 pm to 00:00 am. During the summer, trains run until 02:30 am on Fridays and Saturdays. The Tramvia tickets are the same as ATAF buses and allow you to travel the same time period .
